On Monday, Sophie appeared on Channel 5’s “Inside Aldi” documentary, which explored the dramatic rise in popularity of the budget supermarket.
Taking inspiration from this video featured on the Sopherina YouTube channel, Sophie went out on the high street to see if members of the public could tell the difference between branded goods and Aldi’s own-brand equivalents.
As a featured “Consumer Vlogger”, Sophie provided insights into what made her first try Aldi, and why there’s something for everyone in the German supermarket.
Sophie has become the UK “go-to” commentator on the budget supermarket industry – conducting regular blindfold taste tests to compare each of the big supermarkets own-brand offerings against each other.
The feature was filmed in June 2019, and aired in the UK on Monday 26th August.
