Terms of Membership

These terms govern your membership of Sopherina’s Kitchen, a trading name of Aethus (“we”, “us”), available at sopherina.co.uk. By joining, you agree to them. Questions: hello@sopherina.co.uk.

1. Your membership

Membership gives you access to Sopherina’s recipe collection and hands-free Let’s Cook mode for a recurring fee: £3/month or £30/year. You must be 18 or over.

2. Free trial & payment

New members start a 7-day free trial. We collect your card up front but take no payment during the trial.
Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your first payment is taken automatically on day 7, and then each month or year until you cancel.
We’ll email you a reminder before your trial ends. Card payments are handled securely by Stripe — we never see or store your card number.

3. Cancelling, cooling-off & refunds

You can cancel anytime from your account, in two taps. Cancel before day 7 and you pay nothing.
If you cancel a paid membership, it stays active until the end of the period you’ve paid for; it won’t renew after that.
Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you normally have a 14-day cooling-off right to cancel a distance contract for a full refund. Because membership is digital content supplied immediately, when you join you tick a box expressly agreeing that access begins straight away and acknowledging that you lose the cooling-off right once you access the content. Your 7-day free trial means you can still try everything before paying a penny.
If you haven’t accessed any member content, your 14-day cooling-off right stands — email us within 14 days of joining and we’ll cancel and refund in full. And if something’s gone wrong at any time, email us and we’ll put it right. Nothing here affects your statutory rights.

4. Failed payments

If a renewal payment fails, we’ll retry and email you to update your card. Your access continues during a short grace period; if payment still can’t be taken, access pauses until it’s sorted.

5. Using the recipes

The recipes, illustrations and other content are for your personal, home use. Please don’t copy, republish or redistribute them. Your membership is for you.

6. Changes

We may add to or improve the service over time. If we change the price, we’ll tell you in advance and you can cancel before it takes effect.

7. Liability & law

We provide the service with reasonable care but can’t guarantee it’s uninterrupted or error-free, and recipes are followed at your own discretion (do check for allergens). Nothing here limits liability that can’t be limited by law. These terms are governed by the law of England & Wales.
